Κι ένα σχόλιο πριν κλείσω τη σημερινή ανάρτηση. Σας παρακαλούμε θερμά να διαβάσετε προσεκτικά τους κανόνες συμμετοχής στις προκλήσεις μας. Δεν είναι κάτι δύσκολο ή πολύπλοκο, αλλά διαπιστώνουμε ότι σε πολλές συμμετοχές λείπουν κάποια στοιχεία κι έτσι δεν είναι έγκυρες. Ειδικά, θέλω να μου προσέξετε τις παρακάτω παραγράφους:

FROM TRASH TO TREASURE

Αυτό το μήνα η πρόκλησή μας έχει δώσει πολλή έμπνευση στη σχεδιαστική μας ομάδα. Σήμερα η αγαπημένη μας και πολύ ταλαντούχα Ιουλία Δεληγιαννίδου, μας παρουσιάζει ένα πολύ ξεχωριστό έργο.

This month, our mood board has inspired our designers so much and today, our lovely and very talented Julia Deligiannidou is showing us a very special project!

Happy Creative Year my dear friends!

Εμπνεύστηκα από το mood board αυτού του μήνα και μεταποίησα ένα παλιό μπουκάλι λικέρ σε ένα λαμπερό επιτραπέζιο διακοσμητικό.

I was very much inspired by our mood board this month, so decided to upcycle an old liquor bottle and turn it into a glamorous table décor piece.

Αρχικά, καθάρισα καλά το μπουκάλι από τις από τις ετικέτες.  Με ένα στένσιλ και stone effect paste (lime stone) έκανα αστεράκια στο πάνω μέρος του μπουκαλιού.

First, I thoroughly cleaned the bottle and removed all the labels. With a stencil and some stone effect paste (lime stone) I created the stars on the upper part of the surface.

Στη συνέχεια πέρασα το μπουκάλι με icing paste (frosty pearl). Με αυτοξηρούμενο πηλό έφτιαξα τα σπίτια και τα άφησα να στεγνώσουν.

Then, I applied icing paste (frosty pearl) over the whole bottle. I used air-dry clay to shape the little houses and left everything to dry well.

Αφότου στέγνωσαν άπλωσα crackle paste και gesso. Τόνισα το κρακελέ απλώνοντας vintage effect wash και για λάμψη ψέκασα με shimmer mister. Στις στέγες και στα παράθυρα κόλλησα glass glitter. Στα παράθυρα τοποθέτησα και μεταλλικά στοιχεία.

When everything was completely dry, I applied gesso and crackle paste. I embellished the roofs and the windows with glass glitter and some metal elements.

Έντυσα τον λαιμό του μπουκαλιού με sari ribbon, το οποίο είχα ψεκάσει με μπλε mister. Με το ίδιο χρώμα τόνισα και τα αστέρια.I decorated the bottle’s neck with sari ribbon that I had sprayed with blue mister. I used the same mister to color the stars.

Έφτιαξα ένα φεγγάρι από χαρτόνι και το έβαψα με μεταλλικό ακρυλικό χρώμα.

Στον ουρανό χρησιμοποίησα, επίσης, μπλε ακρυλικό χρώμα. Τέλος κόλλησα στα σπίτια αυτοκόλλητα νούμερα.

I used a piece of cardboard to create the moon and painted it with metallic acrylic paint. I also used blue acrylic paint for the sky. Lastly, I glued some sticker numbers on the houses.

Ιουλία μου σ’ ευχαριστούμε πολύ γι’ αυτό το πανέμορφο project. Υπέροχη ιδέα για διακοσμητικό στο σπίτι μας αλλά και για δώρο σε ένα αγαπημένο μας πρόσωπο!

Dear Julia, thank you so much for this gorgeous project. Great idea for home décor but also as a gift to a friend!

I’m absolutely certain, my dear friends that you’ve all got plenty of empty bottles hidden in many places at your houses, well…just grab one of them and give it new life!

Καθυστερήσαμε λίγο την χειμωνιάτικη μας πρόκληση….αλλά τι να κάνω, άργησα να ξεπαγώσω από τα χιόνια που με σκέπασαν στις γιορτές χιχιχι

Πάντως κάλιο αργά παρά αργότερα….και χωρίς άλλη καθυστέρηση ανακοινώνουμε την πρώτη μας πρόκληση για το 2019.
Our first challenge for 2019 is finally on,although a bit late due to my getting stuck in the mountains :)))....but I'm sure you'll love it!

From Trash to Treasure

Ένα θέμα πάντα επίκαιρο κι αγαπημένο, μια και το ξέρω καλά ότι λίγο πολύ είστε όλες κρυφο μαζόχτρες, που συλλέγετε ένα σωρό «σκουπιδάκια» προκειμένου κάποια στιγμή να τα αξιοποιήσετε μεταμορφώνοντάς τα. 
This is a theme I know you all love, cause I know you're little hoarders aren't you?
Ιδού λοιπόν η ευκαιρία σας να ανασύρετε κάποιο από αυτά τα πανέμορφα «σκουπιδάκια», να το στολίσετε και να παίξετε μαζί μας για ένα δώρο έκπληξη από το www.scrapsnpieces.gr ή για να είστε η/ο επόμενη Guest Designer εδώ στο blog μας.

Today we have Maria Lillepruun on our blog. Our talented mixed media designer, brings us some amazing inspiration by altering a rubber ball that she saved from a dog's teeth! Can you believe that?

This is my January project. I had so many thoughts in my head about using trash as a base and I was so on the holidays’ wave that I still came up with a Christmas project :)

I made a Christmas bauble out of trash.

My daughter had this little rubber ball she played a couple of times outside with last summer.

Then our neighbor´s dog stole the ball, chewed it for a month and then it was gone... Last week we accidentally found it in front of our house in the snow! My daughter brought it home and wanted to keep playing with the ball! I did not want to keep a cheap ball that was chewed by a dog and then no one even knew what had happened to it for several months outside... But then we decided that the ball that had gone through so many adventures should not just end up in the garbage. So, I washed it very well and turned it into a Christmas tree bauble. 

In the picture, you can see the ball after being cleaned. 

I covered the ball with two coats of white gesso and some lace that I cut out of an old curtain. Then, I colored it with ink sprays, used a golden wax to accent the texture of the lace and a texture paste that imitates snow. 

The bauble is decorated with mulberry flowers, beaded berries, real anise stars and a lot of glitter and sequins.
