σχεδόν μας αποχαιρετά για να δώσει σκυτάλη στο αγαπημένο ελληνικό Καλοκαίρι!
Όμως η φύση ακόμη είναι γεμάτη χρώματα κι εμείς στην πρόκλησή μας γιορτάζουμε
τη ζωή με πολύ πολύ χρώμα! Ελάτε κι εσείς να παίξετε μαζί μας και δείξτε μας ποια
είναι τα χρώματα που σας κάνουν ευτυχισμένες!
Σήμερα έχουμε κοντά μας δυο υπέροχες κυρίες – μαμά και κόρη – από την
όμορφη Ινδία. Η Aditi και η Sunila ήταν νικήτριες της πρόκλησης
του Φεβρουαρίου κι έτσι έχουμε τη χαρά να τις φιλοξενούμε σήμερα ως Guest Designers του blog μας γι αυτό το μήνα.
Παίρνοντας έμπνευση από το πολύχρωμο mood board έφτιαξαν και μας παρουσιάζουν ένα πανέμορφο
στρογγυλό mixed media καμβά!

We
are so thrilled to be guest designing for Scraps n Pieces. This month the mood
board is so vibrant and filled with all the beautiful colors. Before we dwell
into the project, let us tell you about us.
My mother- Sunila Mahajan and me- Aditi Mahajan have been running a
home decor business by the name of Dots to Lines and we handcraft home-decor
products using mixed media and decoupage techniques. We are into
paper-crafting, layouts, journaling, album making and scrapbooking. Our
style of art and craft is a fusion of techniques and usage of vibrant colors.
We aim to spread joy. We keep learning and try to incorporate variety in our
creations. We keep ourselves updated and upgrade our skills timely. We
are into blogging and are a part of the a few design teams and are active on
social media platforms. Documenting memories especially through scrapbooking,
album making and paper crafting makes us happy.
We loved this month’s mood board. Colors make us happy and give us joy!
We decided to create a mixed media
round canvas.
We first prepped the surface with Art
Basics Heavy White Gesso.
Once dry, we used the Stencil Girl -
Curlicue Stencil and spread Mont Marte White Modelling Paste through it for texture.
Once dry, we began our Color Play. We
used Lindy’s Magical Shaker Guten Tag Teal and French
Lilac Violet Spray for our background.
Our aim was to leave a little white
space in between and spread color majorly on the right half of our canvas. We
sprayed water with the mister to achieve the water color effect.
Once dry, we added a few splatters of
the California Poppy Gold Spray. We then used a few of Finnabair’s mini background
Stamps and stamped them randomly using Versamark
Ink. We used Lindy’s Embossing Powders-gluten Tag Teal, Aurora
Amethyst, Yodelling Yellow and Hibiscus Rose Orange and heat set it.
Next, we created a few color swatches
on separate cardstock with different combinations of the Lindy’s Sprays
- California Poppy Gold, French Lilac Violet, Magnolia Magenta Gold, Hibiscus
Rose and Guten Tag Teal Magical Shaker.
We then used these to die cut various
elements for our layers. We chose a picture and a chipboard frame for it. We colored
the frame with the same sprays.
Next, we mounted the picture on
corrugated sheet for depth and played around with all our die cut elements
around it. We also added a few Prima flowers and feathers.
Once done, we added
a Chipboard title and a few phrases from 7 Dots
Studio Verano Azul Collection. We then stamped the same Messy Script background
stamp with Black Archival Ink randomly, and highlighted the stencil texture
with Art Alchemy Vintage Gold Wax. This completed our canvas,
